My First Cake that I got Paid to Make

As I mentioned earlier, one of my coworkers asked me to make a cake for his daughter’s first birthday, so this is what I came up with:

  1. I’m so impressed with your skills Bean! Am I right in suspecting that we are going to be seeing a lot more paid cake posts? How in the world do you make these without tasting the batter?

    • Jenna – it’s actually a gluten and dairy free cake as my coworker’s daughter has similar dietary restrictions as I do. So, I used my favourite yellow cake recipe (that I still need to post the lastest version of) that has been tested by my coworkers multiple times.

Are you going to go pro? My sister is thinking about starting her own wedding cake business. She’s called the Cupcake Princess. You guys should talk sometime!

    • I’m debating going psuedo pro, but I want to finish all the wilton courses first. Does your sister have a blog – it would be awesome to get in touch with her!

She’s very tech unsavvy. I’m hopefully going to help her get set up after the wedding when we have her beautiful cake/cupcakes to show. I think she’s just amazing (and a really, really sweet person)!

  3. I love the roses. Looks just the perfect Wilton signature rose to me.

Are you going to do a dinosaur cake next cause that’d be pretty awesome.

  4. Love it! You are definitely proving the value of taking the course!

  5. You are too cute! Thank you for your kind words on my blog. Do you have celiac? I hope your mom is well also. Thanks for stopping by, hope to “see” you again!! 🙂

  6. the cake is nice and the roses are perfect. Maybe you just need some more practice but I really like the cake 🙂 We ll be seeing alot more marvellous cakes
