Our trip to Banff

I realized that I never finished telling you about my trip to Banff back in December and the wind and cold reminded me of it today. (It apparently was gusting at the airport up to 100km/h – 62.1miles/h – isn’t that crazy?)

It was really windy and cold:

The funny thing with this part of Alberta is that it can be bloody cold but the sky is perfectly clear.

When you arrive in Banff and it’s too early to check into your hotel, what do you do? Pretend to be tourists, of course!

And being a tourist means buying lots of candy and fudge.

Once you can check into your hotel room and start getting ready for dinner, it’s a good idea not to have a dress with a busted seam. And if you do, it’s a good idea to have a sewing kit on hand. If you don’t the front desk will be nice enough to give one to you. But make sure that you don’t sew over the zipper. That doesn’t work well. And after all that, please don’t arrive late. photos-from-camera-269

But don’t forget to take pictures of yourself in your nice clothes. Do bring your camera to dinner – unlike me – and take lots of pictures of your delicious dinner and exciting dancing. Also, don’t give all your raffle tickets away because 5 minutes after you leave, those tickets will win.

In the morning, do make sure that you have a tasty breakfast before you head back into town. I suggest the mountain muesli, whereas Mr. Bean recommends anything with bacon.

What do you do when it’s windy and cold outside?
